April, Director of Clinical Operations

April is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the dental field. Her passion for dentistry ignited at a young age when she earned certification as a dental laboratory technician in 1999 at Hodgson Vocational Technical High School. She embarked on a journey to excel in dental care, earning an Associates in Science from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 2002. During her academic pursuits, April honed her clinical skills at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania.

Her dedication and versatility were evident even during her time as a hygiene school student, as she simultaneously worked as a dental assistant in a specialized pediatric office catering to patients with special needs. Her hands-on experiences extended to notable institutions such as Saint Christopher’s Children’s Hospital and the VA Hospital, further enriching her ability to provide exceptional care across all age groups.

Not only committed to her profession, April’s heart for community service shines through her involvement with Give Kids a Smile and Special Olympics. These experiences solidified her dedication to improving the lives of others through compassionate care.

In 2006, April became an integral part of the Mercer Sydell Dental team, where she dedicated the next 16 years to patient care. Her expertise expanded beyond patient care to encompass managing OSHA compliance and overseeing the hygiene department. With 28 years of clinical excellence under her belt, April transitioned into the role of Director of Clinical Operations and Patient Experiences, showcasing her exceptional leadership and operational skills. In this role, April oversees our clinical team, assesses and enhances protocols to guarantee our patients enjoy a superb experience.

April’s was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, and was enriched by her experiences growing up in a military family, which exposed her to diverse cultures and locations up and down the East Coast. Currently residing in Smyrna with her husband and two sons, she finds balance in her life by enjoying yoga, traveling, nurturing her garden, contributing at her sons’ school and sporting events, and actively participating in her local church.

April’s story is one of continuous growth, dedication, and a profound commitment to fostering excellence in dental care and patient experience. Her legacy at Mercer Sydell Dental and her positive impact on both her community and the field of dentistry stand as a testament to her unwavering passion and leadership.
