Meet Dr. Charvat
Dr. Mark Charvat, was born and raised in Carroll County, MD. Before embarking on his dental journey, Dr. Charvat pursued his undergraduate studies at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry.
A graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School, Dr. Charvat brings a solid education and a compassionate approach to his dental practice. While at UMSOD, he volunteered with several dental outreach initiatives, including the UMB CURE Scholars Program, which aimed to help educate children about the dental field, and Mission of Mercy, which helped provide basic dental treatment to those in need. He was also selected for the oral surgery clerkship, where he received additional training in extraction techniques and treating the medically compromised with a focus on individuals with cancer and other complex medical diagnoses.
Following the completion of dental school, Dr. Charvat’s pursuit of excellence led him to a General Practice Residency at Christiana Care Hospital. This immersive experience further refined his skills across various dental domains (most notably, restoring complex implant cases and providing comprehensive dental care). Additionally, Dr. Charvat continued his training in providing multidisciplinary care to the medically compromised with his work at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
Dr. Mark joined Mercer Sydell Dental in 2022 following the completion of his residency. He remains devoted to knowing the latest advancements in dental techniques and technology. By actively participating in ongoing educational opportunities, he ensures that his patients benefit from the most cutting-edge and effective dental solutions. Dr. Mark attends the Kois Center in Seattle, WA, a learning center founded and taught by Dr. John Kois, devoted to providing continuing education and training based on the most up-to-date scientific research. He is also an active member of the Delaware Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. His commitment to giving back continues with his work with the Give Kids a Smile group.
Dr. Mark resides in Rehoboth with his wife, Danielle. When he’s not tending to patients, he enjoys spending time with friends and family and enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s on the beach or the golf course.
