Meet Dr. Philip
Dr. Chloë W. Philip, DDS MEd, was born and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She pursued higher education at The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on secondary science education at Penn State. Dr. Philip participated in a summer research internship with the University of Idaho during her undergraduate studies. This internship included conducting groundbreaking research in the Galapágos Islands, which resulted in a published article marking her early contribution to scientific literature.
After completing her undergraduate and graduate studies, Dr. Philip moved to the Midwest to attend Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. While at Marquette, she distinguished herself not only as a student but also as a tutor for fellow dental students. She conducted endodontic research, with numerous publications currently submitted to research journals, and served as a tour guide for alumni and prospective students. She was also the recipient of the American Association of Endodontists award, along with numerous merit-based scholarships.
Following her dental degree, Dr. Philip returned to the Northeast to attend the General Practice Residency Program at Christiana Care Hospital. There, she gained advanced training in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and implant rehabilitation cases. She also received extensive guidance on managing medically compromised patients and attended interprofessional conferences focused on treating patients with head and neck cancers.
Upon graduating from the residency program, Dr. Philip joined the Mercer Sydell Dental team in 2024, where she will continue to practice with a focus on providing high-quality dental care. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Delaware State Dental Society.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Philip resides in southern Delaware. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, playing tennis and pickleball, and indulging in her passions for cooking and baking. Dr. Philip’s career is marked by dedication to both her patients and the field of dental education, and she contributes significantly to both through her clinical practice and research.
